Bespoke kids bed cost Dubai: 2026 price guide
A bespoke kids bed in Dubai costs between AED 6,500 and AED 35,000 in 2026, depending on bed type, timber, storage and finish. This guide breaks that number down line by line, using the bands we actually quote rather than a vague range.

What actually drives a bespoke kids bed price in Dubai
Five things move the number: size, timber, storage, finish and install access. Change any one of them and a quote can shift by AED 3,000 or more, which is why two beds that look identical in a photo can sit AED 6,000 apart.
Size and layout
A 1.2m single loft is the most economical footprint. Move up to a 1.4m or 1.6m mattress and you need wider panels, a longer ladder run and stronger fixings, which usually adds AED 900 to AED 2,200.
Timber and sheet material
MDF with a laminate face is the budget route. Birch ply is the child-safe middle option and takes lacquer well. Solid oak is premium and rarely necessary for a young child. Material choice alone can swing a bed by AED 2,500 to AED 5,500.
Storage and play features
Under-bed drawers, a staircase with built-in steps, a study nook or a slide all add joinery hours. Each drawer bank is typically AED 900 to AED 1,800. A full staircase instead of a ladder is AED 1,500 to AED 3,000.
Finish and edge treatment
A sprayed low-VOC lacquer costs more upfront than an edged laminate, but it handles cleaning better in Dubai humidity. Two-tone work, hand-painted detailing and curved panels add labour.
Install access
A Palm Jumeirah villa with wide internal stairs is a simple carry-in. A JVC tower apartment may need a service lift booking, a goods lift slot and a parking permit. Budget AED 300 to AED 900 for access and handling on apartment installations.
2026 AED price bands by bed type
These are the ranges we quote most often in Dubai this year.
| Bed type | 2026 price band (AED) | Typical build time |
|---|---|---|
| Single loft bed, 1.2m | 6,500 to 13,000 | 3 weeks |
| Bunk bed with stairs | 11,000 to 21,000 | 4 weeks |
| Full kids bedroom set | 18,000 to 35,000 | 5 weeks |
A mid-range example: a 1.2m single loft bed in birch ply, E0 low-VOC matte finish, two under-bed drawers, installed in a JVC apartment, comes to about AED 9,800 including delivery. The same bed with a full staircase instead of a ladder, a study nook and a pull-out second mattress lands closer to AED 14,500.
If you are weighing up overlapped formats, our kid's loft bed Dubai guide compares loft, mid-sleeper and cabin layouts on the same cost basis.

Materials and finishes: what each upgrade costs
| Material | Uplift vs MDF | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MDF with laminate edge | baseline | rental rooms, tight budgets |
| Birch ply with E0 lacquer | AED 2,500 to 4,500 | family homes, daily use |
| Solid oak, oiled | AED 6,000 to 9,000 | heirloom builds |
E0 and low-VOC lacquers matter more in Dubai than most buyers expect. Bedrooms here stay sealed with the AC running for months, so a low-odour finish is a health decision rather than a style upgrade. Painted edges look cleaner on curves, but edge banding survives knocks better on straight panels.

Safety spec included in our price
Nothing below is charged as an extra. It is part of every quote:
- Rounded and radiused edges on all exposed panels
- Entrapment-safe rail gaps, kept under 89mm
- Load-rated fixings into Dubai block, plaster and gypsum walls
- Anti-tip wall anchors on every loft and bunk
- Mattress platform ventilation gaps
- Matte, non-toxic finish that wipes clean
Cheap flat-pack imports often skip the wall anchoring and the rail gap standard. On a loft bed, that is the difference between a safe build and a real risk.
Measuring your Dubai room before you get a quote
You can get a useful first number on WhatsApp with four things: room width, room length, ceiling height and two photos.
Ceiling height for loft beds
A loft bed needs at least 2.4m floor to ceiling to be comfortable, and 2.6m if a desk sits underneath. Most JVC apartment bedrooms sit at 2.7m to 2.8m, which works well. Palm Jumeirah villa rooms are often higher, so a taller top bunk and a deeper desk below are possible.
AC ducts, windows and doors
In many Dubai apartment layouts the AC duct runs along the window wall, which rules out a full-height headboard on that side. Door swing and window opening direction usually decide which wall the bed can face.
Floor and wall type
Gypsum partitions need different fixings from block walls, so send a photo of the wall the bed will sit against.
If you are pricing the whole room rather than the bed alone, our kid's wardrobe Dubai article covers wardrobe sizing and costs in the same format.
An ongoing fit-out in Dubai. Site access and staging are planned the same way for a bedroom installation.
Lead time and process
Most Dubai kids beds take 3 to 5 weeks from approved design to installed unit. Here is the sequence.
- Send dimensions and photos on WhatsApp to +971 55 379 6441.
- Free site survey, usually within 48 hours across Palm Jumeirah, JVC and the rest of Dubai.
- Design and itemised fixed quote, valid for 30 days.
- Deposit and production, 3 to 5 weeks in our joinery workshop.
- Installation, usually one day, with a snag walkthrough at handover.
Where the bedroom is part of a larger villa or commercial fit-out, the joinery sits inside the main DET or free-zone fit-out approval and the bed is installed after the permit is issued. On standalone bedroom work inside an existing home, no approval is normally needed.
Worked example: a bunk with stairs for two children, birch ply, E0 lacquer, two drawer banks and one study desk, installed in a JVC apartment, comes to about AED 16,400 including delivery. A comparable full kids bedroom set with bed, wardrobe and study unit usually starts around AED 18,000.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a bespoke kids bed cost in Dubai in 2026?
Expect AED 6,500 to 13,000 for a single 1.2m loft bed, AED 11,000 to 21,000 for a bunk with stairs, and AED 18,000 to 35,000 for a full kids bedroom set. A mid-range 1.2m loft bed in birch ply with two drawers usually lands around AED 9,800 installed.
Is a custom kids bed cheaper than buying one from a Dubai store?
No. Custom joinery usually costs 30 to 60 percent more than a mass-market bed. What you pay for is an exact fit, child-safe materials, load-rated wall fixings and a finish that copes with Dubai humidity. Off-the-shelf beds cost less but rarely fill an awkward room shape.
How long does a custom kids bed take to build and install in Dubai?
Allow 3 to 5 weeks from approved design, plus one day for installation. The site survey happens within about 48 hours and the fixed quote stays valid for 30 days. If the room is part of a fit-out waiting on DET approval, add the permit timeline to those weeks.
Do I need DET approval for kids bedroom joinery in Dubai?
For a standalone bedroom refit inside an occupied home, no. Where the work sits inside a larger villa renovation, a commercial unit or a free-zone premises that already needs fit-out approval, the joinery forms part of that submission and is installed after the permit is issued.
Which material is safest for a child's bed in Dubai?
Birch ply with an E0 or low-VOC matte lacquer is the practical choice. It holds fixings well, resists warping in air-conditioned rooms and off-gasses far less than standard MDF. Solid oak is the most durable option if budget allows, and raw exposed board edges should be avoided near a sleeping area.
